Earptopia’s main venue, the Hyatt Regency Downtown, as well as Didsbury, Alberta, and other locations Earptopia’s attendees may visit in Calgary and the surrounds, are located on traditional Blackfoot Territory. These ancestral Treaty Seven lands of the Blackfoot Confederacy consist of the Siksika Nation, Piikani Nation, and the Kainai Nation; we also acknowledge the connection of the Stoney Nakoda Nation, consisting of the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Good Stoney Bands, the people of the Tsuut’ina, and Métis people of Alberta Region 3.

As we enjoy a weekend of found family and camaraderie, we do so in the spirit of respect, reciprocity, and truth by acknowledging these lands, their people, and their history.
